Day 1: Arrival in Gangtok & MG Marg Exploration

Morning: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). Begin the scenic 4–5 hour drive along the Teesta River up to Gangtok.

Afternoon: Arrive in Gangtok (5,410 ft) and check into your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimatize to the altitude.

Late Afternoon / Evening: Walk down to MG Marg, Gangtok’s pedestrian-only boulevard. Explore the local shops, soak in the vibrant mountain town atmosphere, and enjoy local delicacies like Momos, Thukpa, and Phagshapa at popular cafes.

Overnight: Gangtok.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

Morning: Early morning start (around 7:30 AM) to drive towards high-altitude East Sikkim (approx. 38 km / 2 hours). Stop at the sacred Tsomgo (Changu) Lake located at 12,400 feet, surrounded by steep snow-capped mountains. Enjoy a yak ride around the lake perimeter.

Afternoon: Continue higher up to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (13,123 feet), a shrine dedicated to an Indian Army soldier built and maintained by the military. (Optional: Nathula Pass on the Indo-China border at 14,140 ft can be added if permit and weather permit).

Late Afternoon: Drive back down to Gangtok. Visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and the nearby Do Drul Chorten Stupa on your return.

Evening: Relax at your hotel or enjoy a quiet dinner in Gangtok town.

Day 3: Monastery Tour & Return Journey

Morning: Visit Rumtek Monastery (approx. 24 km from Gangtok), the seat of the Gyalwang Karmapa and one of Sikkim's largest and most significant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Alternatively, visit Enchey Monastery and Ganesh Tok Viewpoint for a morning view of Kanchenjunga.

Afternoon: Begin your downward journey back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your onward flight or train.
